PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a resolution, in a specific area, of a course digital-to-analog converter (DAC), without increasing the substantial area of the device. SOLUTION: A voltage for increasing a resolution, at least in one specific area, by 1 bit is produced in a high-order reference voltage generated by a reference voltage generating circuit 20 of a course DAC 30, the area of the added 1 bit is switched, by changing over a switch in accordance with low-order digital data, and the data are outputted to a low-order DAC 40 to perform low-order D/A conversion thereon, thereby the accuracy of high-order bits is improved.
