PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multilayer capacitor capable of not only securing a large capacitance but also achieving an equivalent series inductance of 250 pH or less required when in use for a wide frequency band. SOLUTION: The multilayer capacitor laminates a dielectric layer and internal electrodes 11, 21, ..., for forming capacitance. The internal electrodes 11, 21 are located in a direction to intersect a mounting surface 2 at right angles. Lead-out electrodes 12, 22 led out from the internal electrodes 11, 21 are electrically connected with external electrodes 31, 32. A relation of a distance "a" between each of the lead-out electrodes 12, 22 of mutually opposing internal electrodes 11, 21 and distances b<SB>1</SB>and b<SB>2</SB>from the internal electrodes 11, 21 to the mounting surface 2 satisfies a formula: 1.64a+(b<SB>1</SB>+b<SB>2</SB>)≤0.85 (herein, the unit of a, b<SB>1</SB>and b<SB>2</SB>is mm).
