<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently absorb collision energy. <P>SOLUTION: This energy absorbing member 4 is provided with a pair of arms 6, 6 extended to an impact pressure receiving direction and arranged vertically in parallel with each other and with a base 5 extended to the direction approximately orthogonal to the impact pressure receiving direction to connect root portions of the arms 6, 6 with each other, to have a vertical cross section of an approximately U-shape.
