PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body rear structure capable of effectively receiving and distributing a load at a rear-end collision. SOLUTION: The vehicle body rear structure comprises a rear wheel house (14) having an upper surface extending in an arch shape in a side view, a rear side frame (22) which extends in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle body inside the vehicle width direction from the rear wheel house, and is coupled with the lower side of a rear floor pan with the rear end thereof connected to a rear end panel (6) or a rear end cross member at the rear end of the rear floor pan, and side sills (10, 12) extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body at the lower edge of a side door outside the vehicle width direction, and further comprises a rear side outer frame (22) which extends along the upper surface of a wheel house, and is coupled with the upper surface of the wheel house to form a closed section. In the rear side outer frame, its rear part is coupled with the rear side frame at the back side of the wheel house, and its front part is coupled with the rear parts of the side sills.
