The method involves reducing an injection time (2) to a correct time (8) for realizing subsequent injection, which follows anterior injection at an anterior injection time after an interval time (4) is elapsed. The correct time is derived from the interval time, where injection time is not shorter than minimum time space. The correct time is determined from a characteristic diagram that is defined by a time interval. The diagram is defined by using fuel pressure (10) at an injection valve. The correction time is weighted by a characteristic line, which depends on the injection time.
