Class 141 A brassiere is provided with shirring 61. 63 along the upper edges of the main panels 19, 21 and along the lower edges of the main and central panels 19, 21, 17 respectively. Thin friction bands 65 of rubber &c. are secured to the inside of the shirred portions by stitching. When the brassiere is worn without shoulder straps, the upper portions of the breast cups are folded down and secured to loops 95 by buttons 52 which normally engage with the shoulder straps 23, 25. Arcuate stiffeners 59 are provided at the lower parts of the breast cups which are formed in three sections 41, 42, 43. Specification 850,718 is referred to.
