A washing machine and a control method thereof are provided to improve the drying efficiency and prevent the wrinkle of laundry by taking the laundry off the inner wall of the drum in the drying cycle after the dehydrating cycle. A washing machine comprises a tub(15), a drum(43) installed inside the tub to receive laundry(L), a dryer(34) supplying hot air into the drum, and a moisture supply apparatus(41) supplying moisture to the laundry so that the weight of the laundry increases and the laundry separates from the inner wall of the drum.
