A method for determining a direction of a target point by using a portable device and a computer readable recording medium in which a program for executing the method is recorded are provided to determine a direction of a target point without a mobile communication terminal or a portable device, thereby increasing convenience of a user. A geographic meridian is determined based on a location and time of a portable device(S51). An azimuth of the standard point is determined through the geographic meridian(S52). The first direction is displayed in a direction reversed to the azimuth from the standard point(S53). Geographic information of the target point is inputted(S54). A geographic meridian is determined based on the geographic information of the target point(S55). The first angle between the first direction and the target point is computed based on the geographic meridian of the target point(S56).
