A prism sheet having prisms of zig-zag arrangement patterns, back light unit having the prism sheet and liquid crystal display device having the back light unit are provided to employ the prism sheet and to simplify the manufacturing process. The light source(21) is the line source lamp such as the cold cathode fluorescent lamp(CCFL: cold cathode fluorescent lamp) or long and external electrode type fluorescent lamp(EEFL: external electrode fluorescent lamp). The light source cover(21a) is arranged outside the light source. The light guide plate is formed with the transparent material like the polymethyl metacrylate (PMMA: poly methyl methacrylate). The reflective sheet(23) is arranged in the one side of the light guide plate. The scattered diffusion and the light are supplied to the prism sheet(25). The protection sheet(26) is arranged on the top of the prism sheet.
