A multimedia processing apparatus for performing unified search and a unified search method through a tag are provided to search different kinds of multimedia contents, stored in the multimedia processing apparatus, at once. A storage unit(130) stores a plurality of different multimedia contents in which at least one tag is registered. A controller(140) searches the registered tag based on a search word which a user inputs to search multimedia contents in which the tag corresponding to the search word is registered. The controller comprises a tag registration part, a tag searcher and a multimedia content execution part. The tag registration part registers one or more tags in the different multimedia contents. The tag searcher searches the registered tag based on the search word inputted by the user. The multimedia content execution part executes the multimedia contents corresponding to the tag searched by the tag searcher.
