PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna device consisting of a slot antenna using a parallel flat plate type conductor capable of transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves of horizontally polarized type using such a slot shape as excited by TEM waves transmitted between parallel flat plates. SOLUTION: The antenna device 101 is composed of an oversurface conductor part 102 consisting of a flat plate type conductor, an undersurface conductor part 103 consisting of flat plate type conductor having the same shape as the oversurface conductor part and arranged parallel thereto, a side face conductor part 104 consisting of a band-shaped conductor connected with their edges perpendicularly thereto, and a current feeding part 102 which is to generate TEM waves (Transverse Electro Magnetic Wave) propagating between the oversurface conductor part 102 and the undersurface conductor part 103 or detect the TEM wave, and is further equipped with at least one band-shaped communication slot 105 leading from the oversurface conductor part 102 to the undersurface conductor part 103 via the side face conductor part 104, wherein part of the path in longitudinal direction of the communication slot 105 intersects the propagating direction 113 of the TEM wave.
