The device (1) has a recognition unit (2) for recognizing sentence limitation of a speech signal e.g. traffic information. A signal store (3) stores the speech signal. An output unit (4) outputs the speech signal upon recognized sentence limitation of the speech signal. A receiving unit (5) e.g. radio receiver, is provided for receiving the speech signal. The speech signal is interrupted by a signal e.g. acoustic on-board signal, with higher priority than the speech signal at the recognized sentence limitation of the speech signals. An independent claim is also included for a method for outputting speech signals.
