IN-SUBJECT POSITION DETECTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-subject position detecting system detecting the position of a capsule type endoscope at high speed, and having increased detection accuracy as a result.

SOLUTION: A reception electrode selecting circuit 18 selects a reception electrode for receiving an image reception signal from among the plurality of reception electrodes 6a-6n for receiving a transmission signal to be transmitted from the transmission electrode of the capsule type endoscope. A position detecting electrode selecting circuit 21 selects the reception electrode for receiving a position detecting signal from among the reception electrodes other than the electrode selected by the reception electrode selecting circuit 18. The signal to be received via the reception electrode selected by the position detecting electrode selecting circuit 21 is used for position detection, so that an image data extracting operation and a position detecting operation are independently performed, and the position detection is therefore performed at high speed.
