[PROBLEMS] To provide an image selecting device, an image selecting method and a program. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] An image selecting device is provided with a selection number specifying section for specifying the number of images to be selected; an image analysis section (228) for analyzing a plurality of images and extracting a feature quantity of each image; a first selection section for selecting at least images of the selection number from among the images, based on the feature quantity of each image extracted from the image analysis section; a second selection section for selecting an image from among the images by a discretionary method different from that taken by the first selection section; and a selection control section for making not only the first selection section but the second selection section select an image when the selection number is over a first set number.
