The invention relates to devices for forming fiber products with vertical layering and can be used for producing heat insulating building materials. The inventive device comprises a mechanism for supplying an initial horizontal layering carpet to cutting, a curvilinear stockline for modifying the orientation of the original carpet fibers into a vertical orientation and a movable knife which is used for transversally cutting the original carpet, is arranged at the entry of the curvilinear stockline, is combined with a pusher and is able to carry out reciprocating motion. The cutting edge of the movable knife is adjacent to the outer surface of the curvilinear stockline wall which is frontal in the direction of the carpet travel and in the top section of which a fixed dismountable knife is located. The device is provided with a pressing unit for leveling the surface irregularities of the formed carpet.
