The device (1) has an imaging optics (3) for infrared radiation (5), which is incident on a measurement object from a measuring spot. A measuring spot marking apparatus (11) generates a measuring spot mark. An aperture angle detected by the optics is varied using an adjustment device (7), and another adjustment device (9) is coupled with the device (7) such that a variation of a reproduction scale by the device (7) causes a corresponding variation of the size of the mark by the device (9).
