PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera for enabling a user to select a synthesized image nearest to the desired image from a plurality of synthesized images in adequate exposure which are different in the number of image sheets to be synthesized. SOLUTION: The camera employed includes an imaging device for picking up an image of the object to acquire an image of minus exposure, an image synthesizing section for generating a plurality of synthesized images by synthesizing a plurality of sets of images which are different in the number of image sheets selected from the plurality of images acquired with the imaging device, and a brightness compensating section for multiplying a ratio of exposure information of the image in adequate exposure to exposure information of the synthesized image when the plurality of images acquired by the imaging device are synthesized by the brightness information of the acquired or synthesized images.
