PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solution for conducting a method particularly suitable to stretch a printing plate at a corresponding plate cylinder. SOLUTION: An air register bridge apparatus for a sheet-fed printing machine has a fixing unit for fixing a plate cylinder or fixing the plate drum to a structure rotating together with the plate cylinder, and a register head unit immersed at its itself after the printing plate is provided in a recess part for the register of the printing plate, and having left and right side regions and a register head unit having an intermediate region located between these side regions, and a sensor is provided in the intermediate region to detect the contact of the printing plate in this register head unit.
