PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate selection of a combination of contrast and concentration of a photographed image appropriate for diagnosis. SOLUTION: In a mammography apparatus, a matrix displaying and processing section 24d makes a monitor section 22 display a matrix display of a plurality of gradation adjusted images which are acquired by adjusting gradations of a photographed image by using combinations of contrasts and concentrations set in a plurality of steps. When an operating section 21 receives a selected gradation adjusted image from among the plurality of gradation adjusted images on the matrix display, a photographed image gradation adjusting section 24e adjusts gradation of a photographed image displayed on the monitor section 22 by using the contrast and the concentration of the selected and received gradation adjusted image.
