PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily fold an airbag for a front passenger seat occupant by a folding device. SOLUTION: This folding method has a first process to expand the airbag 10, a second process to make the airbag 10 in a flat plate shape by pressurizing it and a third process to fold the airbag 10 made in the flat plate shape in a shape free to store the air bag in a storage part of an airbag device. Air is introduced to the airbag 10, a regulating plate 43 is made contact with both sides of the airbag 10 and vent holes 16 formed at both the sides of the airbag 10 are closed in the first process. It is possible to sufficiently expand the airbag 10 by preventing the leakage of the air by the regulating plate 43 to position the airbag 10 at a favorable position, and to easily fold the airbag 10 in a desired shape by using the folding device 30 in the second process and the third process.
