PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize protection against seizure occurence and reduction in energy necessary for agitation. SOLUTION: An agitation mechanism M formed in a paint feed passage 82 between a tank (paint feed source) 80 and a coating gun 81 is provided with a cylindrical member 10 through which a paint passes, an agitation member 50 which agitates the paint by rotation in the cylindrical member 10, and a drive means 70 which allows the agitation member 50 to rotate and drive while keeping it in a state not in contact with the internal circumference of the cylindrical member 10 by magnetic force. Since the agitation member 50 rotates in the state not in contact with the cylindrical member 10, the agitation member 50 can rotate at a high speed without seizure. Since the object to be agitated is not a bulk of the water-based paint stored in the tank 80 but is a bit of the water-based paint which passes through the agitation mechanism M, the energy necessary for rotating the agitation member 50 can be small.
