PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lift type motor operated valve having a simple structure by enhancing resolution of a lift quantity of a valve element on converting rotation output of a motor into a lifting motion by utilizing a planetary gearing mechanism and reducing sizes of a coil and a rotor of the compact motor as a driving source. SOLUTION: In this lift type motor operated valve, an output rotation shaft 14 of a stepping motor 2 transmits rotation decelerated via the planetary gearing mechanism 3 to the valve element 4. The valve element 4 connects with and separates from a valve seat 5 and controls a flow rate between a pair of valve ports 26, 27 as screw action is provided by a screw mechanism 28 consisting of a male screw part 13b formed at the output rotation shaft 14 and a female screw part 33 formed at the valve element 4. The resolution of the lift quantity for opening and closing the valve element 4 becomes higher in accordance with deceleration by the planetary gearing mechanism 3 even if an angular resolution of the stepping motor 2 does not change and thus it is possible to control a valve opening at a high accuracy.
