PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mounted capacitor having a low ESR and capable of being applied to a large current. SOLUTION: A plate-like or foil-like metal having a valve action and an expanded surface is formed into a positive electrode body, a dielectric layer is formed on its surface layer, and a conductive functional polymer film 2, a graphite layer 3 and a silver paste layer 4 are sequentially formed thereon, thereby a capacitor element is manufactured. In particular, when a positive electrode terminal 8 is connected to an end of the positive electrode body and a negative electrode terminal 9 is connected to the silver paste layer, the positive electrode terminal and the negative electrode terminal are attached to an insulating armoring case (lid) to be exposed, and the positive electrode terminal and the negative electrode terminal on the mounting surface of the armoring case are extended along the inside surface of the armoring case to form extension parts 8', thereby connection areas thereof to the capacitor element electrodes are increased.
