PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber capable of lessening the projection of core optical fiber of an optical fiber cable from end part of a sheath end part for a long term, capable of reducing the local bent with small bending radius in a connector or in a connector storage box, without increasing bent loss and possibility of disconnection of the optical fiber cable. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable 10 includes a core optical fiber 4 and tension members 6, 6 which are positioned so that their centers are in the same plane with the center of the core optical fiber 4 and at its both the sides, and a sheath 8 is provided en block. The tension members 6, 6 are provided with different compressive elastic modulus and tensile elastic modulus, and the tensile elastic modulus of the sheath 8 is≥550 MPa. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
