<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of starting a fuel cell system wherein oxidation deterioration of an anode can surely be prevented by firmly carrying out reforming from an early stage. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system comprises a reforming catalyst layer-having reformer which produces a hydrogen-containing gas by reforming a hydrocarbon-based fuel, and a high temperature-type fuel cell which generates electric power by using the hydrogen-containing gas. The method of starting the system is carried out through the following processes: (a) a process of rising a temperature of the catalyst layer under measuring the temperature thereof; (b) a process of calculating a hydrocarbon-based fuel flow volume reformable at the catalyst layer on the basis of the measured temperature of the catalyst layer; and (c) a process of supplying the resultant reformed gas which is reformed by supplying a calculated flow volume of the fuel to the catalyst layer, to the anode of the fuel cell, wherein the volume of the fuel supplied to the catalyst layer, is increased by repeating the processes (b) and (c) until the supply volume reaches that at completion of the starting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
