<p>PURPOSE:To carry out the detection of troubles without generating an auxiliary torque on a motor by cutting off electric power when the terminal voltage of the motor does not correspond to the output of a calculation means, in the constitution in which the electric power determined according to the steering torque is supplied into the motor. CONSTITUTION:The output signal of a torque detecting mechanism 22 is inputted into a microprocessor MPU through an amplifying circuit 24, differentiation/ integration circuit 25, and an A/D conversion circuit 26, and the output signal of a car speed detecting circuit 27 is inputted into the MPU through a wave- form shaping circuit 30. In the MPU, the magnitude of the auxiliary torque which is generated by a motor 21 is determined, and the magnitude of the electric current which flows in the motor 21 is detected by an eddy current detecting circuit 42, and the existence of the voltage at the terminal 44 of the motor 21 is detected by a voltage detecting circuit 45, and during the time when no steering torque is generated, the operation check for the electric field effect transistors TR1-TR4 is carried out according to a program, and when trouble is detected, the electric conduction to the motor 21 is cut off immediately.</p> |
