PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve processing efficiency when an image processing load is distributed to a plurality of computers. SOLUTION: Buffer modules (B1-B5) are connected to at least one of stages prior to and subsequent to each image processing module (M1-M6). After an image processing section 50 (refer to (A)) is implemented, having each module connected in either a pipeline or a directional acyclic graph form, if the division of the image processing section 50 is instructed, the image processing section 50 is divided into a portion (groups A, B, D of (C)) to be operated on a client side, and a portion (group C of (C)) to be operated on a server side. A program to be operated on the server side is transferred to the server, so as to be operated on the server side, and simultaneously, programs for processing management section 46 to manage work flow, resources and errors are also transferred to the server, so that the processing management section 46 is operated on the server.
