RUBBING PROCESSING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubbing processing method and device by which an optical compensation film of high quality requested by high luminance and high definition of a liquid crystal display can be manufactured by efficiently removing dust generated in rubbing processing and productivity can be enhanced by attaining a long life of a rubbing sheet. SOLUTION: The rubbing processing method has an alignment layer forming step of forming an alignment layer while the surface of an alignment layer forming material layer of a transparent film 12 is brought into contact with a rubbing roller 16 in its rotated state, a rubbing roller processing step of removing dust after removing electricity of the surface of the rubbing roller 16 after bringing the rubbing roller 16 into contact with the transparent film 12 and an electricity removing step of a long-length flexible belt-like object of removing electricity while sending window to the transparent film 12 after the alignment layer is formed so that window accompanying conveyance is canceled.
