PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tandem type continuous paper printing apparatus which continuously performs printing by connecting two printing devices, wherein if an error arises, the apparatus can be easily recovered from the error by an operator. SOLUTION: A first printing device 11, which is a preceding printing device, is provided with a mark printing means 12 for printing a mark on each page, and a second printing device 13, which is a printing device subsequent to that printing device, is provided with a mark detecting means 14 for detecting the presence or absence of the printed mark. The first and second printing devices and a paper conveying device 15 between these printing devices are provided with error arising position detecting means 16 for detecting any error arising position in printing paper conveyance. A printing control device 2, which controls the first and second printing devices, is provided with: a page managing means 6 for managing the position of each page in a paper conveying path; and a recovery page determining means 8 for determining the printing device to perform recovery printing, and a recovery printing page.
