PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of suppressing a dynamic range of the apparatus from becoming narrow even in the case that luminance is so high that pixels are saturated. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a plurality of pixels 7; an increase unit 10 for increasing electric charges to be accumulated in the pixels 7; and an exposure time change unit 9 for changing an exposure time of the pixels 7, and is configured so that sensitivity of the apparatus is varied by switching control of the number of times of increasing electric charges to be accumulated in the pixels 7 and control of the exposure time of the pixels 7 for the unit of a pixel group constituted of one or more pixels, in accordance with luminance of light incident to the pixels 7.
