The present invention relates to an optical biaxially oriented polyester film comprising a polyester comprising a main component and at least one other component which is a third component in a total amount of 2.0 to 10.0 mol %, which polyester film has a film haze of 0 to 3.0%. The said optical biaxially oriented polyester film is excellent in optical properties such as transparency, law haze and optical uniformity, is capable of contributing to quality improvement of optical products and reducing energetic consumption, and does not have any irregularity and defect when using for elements of LCD, PDP, organic EL, projection displays, or the like, and is capable of realizing a high level brightness and providing high quality images.
