PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate diol which is suitable as a raw material for polyurethanes, thermoplastic elastomers, and the like or as a constituting material for coatings, adhesives and the like. SOLUTION: This polycarbonate diol comprising two kinds of specific repeating units and terminal hydroxyl groups is characterized by having a number-average mol.wt. of 300 to 20,000, a repeating unit ratio of 99:1 to 1:99, and a secondary terminal group index of 0.5 to 5.0%.
