A method for manufacturing a membrane-electrode assembly is provided to solve the problems like repetitive spray coating of catalyst slurry and the excess loss of catalyst, and to reduce the manufacturing cost by not using an expensive polymer film used as a release film. A method for manufacturing a membrane-electrode assembly comprises a step for spray-coating a binder(17) on the surface of the polymer film(15); a step for placing an electrolyte membrane(14) on the film coated with the binder and heating and compressing the resultant to adhere the film and the electrolyte film by the binder; a step for forming a catalyst electrode layer(13') by coating a catalyst slurry(13) on the surface of the electrolyte film by using a casting knife or an applicator(12); a step for obtaining a 2-layered membrane-electrode assembly by drying the coating material and separating the assembly of the membrane and catalyst electrode layer from the polymer film; a step for forming a 3-layered membrane electrode assembly by preparing two pieces of the -layered membrane-electrode assembly, overlapping the membrane electrode assembly and heating and compressing it. |
