An apparatus and a method for manufacturing a display device substrate are provided to remove a fixing process and a pealing process, thereby originally preventing damage of a pattern due to the processes. First and second roller units(100a,100b) perform transfer. A support stage is wound in the first and second roller units. The support stage is moved by rotation of the first and second roller units. An etching unit(130) etches a substrate moved by the support stage. A washing unit(140) washes the etched substrate. An etching surface protection unit(150) protects an etched surface of the substrate.
