<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sealing apparatus, which enables even an unskilled worker to rotate a heat-resistant belt at high speed and carry out sealing work of stable quality. <P>SOLUTION: The heat sealing apparatus has pairs of pulleys 21a, 22a and 21b, 22b, belts 30a, 30b which are wound around pairs of the pulleys, respectively, and a pair of vertically opposite sealing mechanisms R1, R2 which have heating plates 24a, 24b, respectively. The upper and lower pulleys 21a, 21b at the front side are separated from each other, and a deaerating nozzle 23 is arranged between the front side pulleys 21a, 21b and proximity implements 26, 26. The apparatus is also provided with a pair of upper and lower covers 40, 50, which cover the front parts of the sealing mechanisms R1, R2 that are the vicinity to the opposite parts of the belts 30a, 30b. A slit S is formed between the opposite parts of the upper and lower covers 40, 50 to be extend along the opposite parts of the belts 30a, 30b.
