<p>An actuator (18) is operable by a controller (16) and is associated with a torsion bar connected to a steering wheel. Torsional stiffness of power steering system (10) depends on vehicle speed, steering angle speed or transverse acceleration. Electrical power supply of actuator is modified when steering angle speed is zero. The controller starts supply of electrical power to actuator on detected change of steering angle speed starting from zero. Change speed of electrical power supply depends on vehicle speed, steering angle speed, rotational angle of steering wheel or transverse acceleration.</p> |
