A method for treating the insulating oil polluted by the polychlorinated biphenyl is provided, which selectively and simply removes the polychlorinated biphenyl contained in the polluted insulating oil by the chemical method. A method for treating the polluted insulating oil comprises: changing polychlorinated biphenyl contained in the polluted insulating oil into the structure of the water soluble; removing the changed polychlorinated biphenyl by moving it to the aqueous solution layer; adding organic peroxide to the insulating oil to be processed; heating the insulating oil to 30-300 deg.C while stirring; injecting alkali water solution into the insulating oil and agitating while keeping the temperature at 10-100 deg.C; and separating aqueous solution from the insulating oil by using the oil water separator. |
