Bovine vaccination or immunization using a prime-boost regimen against BRSV, BHV-1, BVDV, BPI-3 and DMRIE

Disclosed are bovine prime-boost vaccination methods and kits directed against a bovine pathogen selected from a bovine respiratory syncytal virus, bovine parainfluenza virus 5 type-3, bovine herpes virus type-1, and bovine viral diarrhea. The methods comprise administering to a bovine a priming vaccine composition which comprises a DNA molecule encoding and expressing an immunogen from the pathogen, and DMRIE. Subsequently a second but different boosting vaccine is administered, that contains or expresses at least the same immunogen of the same pathogen. Further disclosed are the use of viral vectors and plasmids for the aforementioned method.
