<p>The present invention relates to a method of treating prostate cancer with androgen deprivation therapy and an insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGF-IR) antagonist. Although the response rate of prostate cancer to androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) is high, surviving cancer cells invariably become androgen independent (AI) and tumor growth follows. The invention inhibits or delays transition of androgen dependent cancer to androgen independent cancer, significantly decreases risk of recurrence, and improves treatment outcome.</p> |
