The present invention relates to a parking brake system for motor vehicles, comprising a control element and at least two electromechanical actuators for generating a parking brake force on a respective wheel of the motor vehicle, wherein the electromechanical actuators are each provided with wheel electronics and wherein the control element is connected via a controller to the wheel electronics of the first electromechanical actuator by means of a first signal line and via a further control unit to the wheel electronics of the second electromechanical actuator by means of a second signal line. In the present invention, at least a third signal line is provided, which connects the control element directly to the wheel electronics or to one of the respective electromechanical actuators and transmits the driver's request. The third signal line is configured such that, on the one hand, it connects the control element directly to the wheel electronics of the electromechanical actuators and, on the other hand, it connects the two wheel electronics to one another and enables communication between the wheel electronics. In this way it is achieved that at least three independent information lines and data paths with information about applying or releasing the parking brake are available and the three pieces of information reach each wheel electronics of the electromechanical actuators via different data paths in the error-free state. |
