<p>Process for preparing sterile collagen, preferably injectable collagen, comprises: preparing purified acid solution of collagen; sterilizing the solution, preferably by filtration on a filter or a sterilizing membrane; precipitating the sterile solution in the form of suspension; and concentrating the collagen suspension, where the suspension is placed in a flexible elongated tubular filter having a porous filtering wall, the filter is fluid permeable but not permeable to collagen fiber, and the suspension is concentrated by slow passage of fluid through the wall. Process for preparing sterile collagen, preferably injectable collagen, comprises: preparing purified acid solution of collagen; sterilizing the solution, preferably by filtration on a filter or a sterilizing membrane; precipitating the sterile solution in the form of suspension; and concentrating the collagen suspension, where the suspension is placed in a flexible elongated tubular filter having a porous filtering wall, the filter is fluid permeable but not permeable to collagen fiber, and the suspension is concentrated by slow passage of fluid through the wall without any pressure other than gravity to avoid clogging of the filtering wall by the collagen fibers.</p> |
