PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize and record and/or reproduce parameters of disk-related information and recording-related information updated with change in recording speed or a version number even by using a conventional version drive together. SOLUTION: The information storage medium which can be used for recording/reproducing by disk information and by a drive, includes the disk information including first disk information and second disk information, and also includes a first area in which the first and the second disk information are different mutually for at least one out of disk version number and recording-related information, and a user data area for using data recorded and/or reproduced for the drive depending on that either of the first and the second recording-related information corresponds to the drive.
