<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas concentration detection device detecting concentrations of different two kinds of gases of a fuel gas and a residual gas by a device. <P>SOLUTION: The gas concentration detection device includes: a light source for illuminating light with at least a wavelength of 3.38 to 4.30μm; a first optical fiber for introducing the light illuminated from this light source; a light guide for introducing the light introduced by the first optical fiber into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine and passing through the inside of the combustion chamber to emit; a second optical fiber for introducing the light emitted from this light guide; a light-receiver for receiving the light introduced via the second optical fiber; and a gas concentration detector for detecting the concentration of a predetermined gas in the combustion chamber from the permeability of the light which is received by this light-receiver. In the device, the light-receiver separates the light into beams with wavelengths absorbed by a first gas and a second gas in the combustion camber respectively, detects the intensities of the beams respectively, and also detects the concentrations of the first gas and the second gas by determining the light permeability from the intensities of the beams respectively in the gas concentration detector. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
