IMAGING APPARATUS, SMEAR CORRECTION METHOD THEREFOR, PROGRAM, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of performing smear correction, without causing deterioration in a frame rate due to deterioration in reading speed from an imaging device. SOLUTION: By noticing that a smear amount loaded on the respective vertical transfer lines (vertical lines) of an interline transfer type CCD is proportional to light volume made incident on the respective vertical transfer lines, the smear amount is calculated by multiplying a value obtained by integrating luminance of the respective vertical transfer lines with a smear correction coefficient. The smear correction is performed by subtraction processing of the calculated smear amount (subtraction of the calculated smear amount from signal values of the respective pixels).
