PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission device and method capable of improving reception quality on a receiving side when an LDPC-CC (Low-Density Parity-Check Convolutional Codes) encoding process is used. SOLUTION: The transmission device 100 includes: an LDPC-CC encoding unit 102; a sorting unit 121 for sorting encoded data 120 obtained by the LDPC-CC encoding unit 102 into a first encoded data group 103_A corresponding to the number of columns containing "1" in LDPC-CC check matrixes H in which protographs are removed and into a second encoded data group 103_B corresponding to the number of other columns than above; and a frame constructing unit (a control unit (106)) for constructing a transmission frame in which the first encoded group 103_A and the second encoded data group 103_B are disposed at different positions according to time or frequency in a frame.
