PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that achieves perceptible sound-production of photographing operation from sound effects even in continuous photographing in which a time from the end of the photographing operation until the start of the next photographing operation is short. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has a sound-production processing means for executing sound-production processing of first sound effects in conjunction with the start of the photographing operation and second sound effects in conjunction with the end of the photographing operation (a step S3006, a step S3009), a determination means for determining whether the second sound effects in conjunction with the end of the photographing operation executed before the photographing operation are produced at the start of the photographing operation (a step S3004), and a control means that controls so as not to execute sound-production processing of the first sound effects or so as to stop the second sound effects, currently produced by the imaging apparatus, when determined by the determination means that the second sound effects are produced (a step S3005).
