PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed content storing system which can reduce wasteful retrieval processing and wasteful traffic as much as possible when re-inquiring is made to a node device which manages the locations of content data, a content acquiring method, a node device, and a node processing program therefor. SOLUTION: A user node computes a reference value at least with the time when the previous inquiring is made to a root node and the present time as a parameter while partial data, which constitute content data acquired from a content-holding node, are being reproduced, and determines whether the reference value satisfies prescribed conditions. When the reference value satisfies the conditions, the user node re-inquires the root node to acquire the node information on the content-holding node by a prescribed amount.
