A method for controlling QoS in UPnP network in which a QoS manager service flexibly controls traffics in UPnP network according to various QoS modes which are set up by a user and an apparatus therefor are provided to control the traffic of network according to various situations. An apparatus for controlling QoS(Quality of Service) receives a QoS request according to the predetermined QoS mode from a control pointing in UPnP(Universal Plug and Play network) network(210). In the apparatus is the QoS mode, a traffic policy which is set up a plurality of traffics in advance is obtained from a QoS Policy holder service(230). The QoS device services of network are controlled the apparatus based on the traffic policies obtained as described above(240).
