PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spring manufacturing machine in which a core metal for cutting wire material formed into a spring is firmly fixed to a frame and can be quickly released from the frame. SOLUTION: The core metal 5 is fitted into a through hole 1a formed in a front frame 1. In the through hole 1a, a first wedge member 40 is positioned on the core metal 5 side while a second wedge member 41 is on the front frame 1 side, with their tilted faces 40c and 41c contacted each other so that the tilted faces of the first wedge member 40 and the second wedge member 41 are tilted toward the opening side of the through hole 1a. A double acting air cylinder 60 to output power and a toggle mechanism 42 to amplify the power outputted by the double acting air cylinder 60 are installed. Then the double acting air cylinder 60 is connected to a main joint part 43 of the toggle mechanism 42, while the second wedge member 41 is to a driven joint part 45 of the toggle mechanism 42. Thus, small power is amplified by the toggle mechanism 42 and the amplified power actuates the second wedge member 41 to move the second wedge member 41. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
