A method and an apparatus for measuring the fluorescent lifetime of a fluorescent material are provided to rapidly measure the fluorescent lifetime with accuracy according to simple calculation. An apparatus for measuring the fluorescent lifetime of a fluorescent material includes an excited light generator(110) generating excited light, a fluorescent photon collector(200) collecting fluorescent photon generated by irradiating the excited light to a sample, a photo-sensor(300) amplifying the collected fluorescent photon to convert the photon into a first electric signal, and a signal processor(400) calculating the fluorescent lifetime by using a difference between the average time of the first electric signal and the average time of a second electric signal converted from excited light when the excited light does not pass through the sample.
